Rhino Reviews: Laughlin - Where the Wild West meets 4PM Early BirdDinners

Let me tell you something - I love this town!  What other "city" can you go to where the person the town is named for is STILL ALIVE.  Here's an A.D.D.-friendly history lesson of the city of Laughlin:

Mid '60s: Don Laughlin (owner of the 101 Club in Vegas) flew over the spot and saw potential

Late '60s - early '70s: built/completed the Riverside Resort; several other casinos popped up

Mid '70s - present: minimal change

I'm pretty convinced that Back to the Future got the idea of "Biff Tannen's Pleasure Paradise Casino & Hotel" from "Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort".

Rhino Reviews: Vdara

For not having a casino right in front of your face, this place was awesome!  There was a line to check-in, which I had grown accustom to not having to deal with since the night before we became regulars at Hotel32.  But it was quick moving and the lobby was pretty cool.  Their bar was designed really well and the whole place had a relaxed atmosphere cuz the casino element wasn't there.

We got up to our room and it was basically everything we wanted.  Really big. Titz bathroom.  Comfy bed.  But, since it was summer, we basically immediately left to go to the pool.

Rhino Reviews: Hotel 32

(Hotel32 is within the Monte Carlo)

Hey Everyone!  We got some new Rhino Nights content for you. Our thanks to BlackChip!

And it begins... The cool thing about going to Hotel32 is that the experience starts at the airport.  A day or two before you leave, one of their concierges gives you a call and gets your arrival info and crap and arranges for a limo to pick you up.  No more worrying about some smelly cab driver cheating you out of $35 by driving you "the better way" to your hotel.

So we arrived at the airport and walked to where all the limo drivers were holding up their iPad-signs with their guests' names on it.  Mrs. Chip & I scanned for our guy....nothing.  Looks like we are gonna have to stand in the cab line after all.  Not a first good impression!  We walk up a few feet and our dude was right there so no big whup.  Everyone just calm down!  He has a cool red iPad with our name on it so that was titz.  We walked to the limo area and our Bellagio limo was chillin' right there.  I thought for sure our "limo" was going to better represent our gambling status of "Not Worth the Trouble" (NWTT), but this car was sleek.

Our Vegas Weekend

Here are some random thoughts about our Vegas Weekend...

Don't fly Spirit Air. When we arrived at the airport in San Diego our flight was delayed until 12:30 am with no guarantee it would depart at all. We scrambled and got on a Southwest flight.

Normally we stay in the center of the strip, however this time around we stayed at the Luxor. Definitely a different vibe in this area. We were excited to be staying in a pyramid room, but we were bumped to a tower room. We didn't have a great view but the room was spacious and nice.

Final Four Margaritas

As you know, we have a tradition of consuming car bombs for every upset in the tournament. Well, we've run out of car bomb making materials, so today we start a new tradition - Final Four Margaritas.

There will be no requirements of an upset or anything, just margarita drinking from tip off until the closing minutes. These will be homemade so no worry of over syrupy sugary drinks.

So here's to you Final Four as March comes to a close. Please provide us with the first buzzer beater of the tournament tonight.

Cheers,

Rhino Nights Crew
