The Average Gambler's Guide to Vegas

To celebrate our 3 week anniversary, we are reposting our first Rhino Nights post for anyone that might not have seen it. With over 15,000 visitors so far, RhinoNights.com is going strong! Stay tuned for more goofy goodness.

High rollers stop reading now, this list is for the average gambler ... the REAL Sin City VIP's. If your goal is to hit the strip for a crazy weekend of all night gambling and fun, you've come to the right spot. The list is broken into categories that will guide the average visitor up and down Las Vegas Boulevard without missing a beat. Here is our list for the top 10 Las Vegas Casinos!

Best Drink Service
Imperial Palace
Nothing goes better with a hot set of dice or a winning shoe of cards than your favorite adult beverage. With most casino's in town rivaling small towns in size, it's nice to find a place that is quick and friendly about serving "free" drinks. (I use the term "free" loosely ... you know what we mean if you have ever lost $100 before your first drink arrives.) Lucky for us, the gaudy, old strip mainstay Imperial Palace is still around. With several bars located around the casino floor, IP offers its guests prompt service when it comes to libations. Imperial Palace might not be able to compete with the amenities of the big boys on the strip, but you are guaranteed to get a nice buzz while playing low minimum tables.

Hottest Staff/Waitresses
Wynn/Encore
Hands down the easiest choice on this list. If you enjoy gorgeous, vivacious women in sexy outfits carrying around free drinks, the Wynn (and Encore) is the only place you need to be. The cocktail waitress is as much of Vegas history as showgirls, Wayne Newton and Liberace. Not only beautiful and "well built", most waitresses at this property are extremely intelligent and classy.

Old School Vegas
Binions Gambling Hall and Hotel
It seems like every year we lose a little piece of Vegas history as the city continues its never ending revamping and repackaging. Old School joints like the Stardust, Sands, Dunes and The New Frontier are long gone. However, there are still a few places you can visit to unleash your inner Rat Pack. Even though its no longer the fantastic downtown gem that used to host the World Series of Poker, Binion's still gives the feeling that Frankie, Deano and Sammie could walk through the door any minute. Low table minimums and great cocktail service adds to the ambiance of the Old Vegas we long for. The end could be near for this Vegas classic as well, on December 14th, 2009 it was announced that the property's 365 hotel rooms would cease operations.

Low-Roller's Paradise
Slots-A-Fun
With today's economic hardships, even Las Vegas gambling consumers need a helping hand making their dollar go the extra mile. That is where Slots-A-Fun enters the Sin City picture amongst the billion dollar behemoths. Adjacent to Circus Circus at the north end of the strip, Slots-A-Fun is a dingy, but charmingly unique casino (in fact the smallest casino on the strip). Even the stingiest gamblers can whip out the dollars and have hours of fun. Featuring $0.50 roulette, $2.00 craps and $3.00 blackjack, Slots-A-Fun is the premiere choice for the budgeted low roller.

Where to Spot a Celeb
Palms
Any Midwesterners want a chance to rub elbows with Hollywood heavy hitters, socialites or professional athletes? Vegas has long been a hangout for the famous to kick back and have a good time. In 2001, George Maloof provided a place for the glitterati to party, relax and oh yea......spend those millions! With a hip feel, the Palms provides guests with high-end restaurants, clubs and gaming.

Top Sports Book
Caesars Palace
Super Bowls, March Madness and title bouts bring tourists to Sin City in flocks. The Las Vegas sports book is often the loudest and most exciting section of the casino. The legendary Caesars Palace provides sports fans with a top notch sports gambling experience. With huge televisions, over 140 seats and plenty of elbow room, the sports book at Caesars Palace is not to be missed.

Best Dealers
Treasure Island
Lets face it, Las Vegas can be a very overwhelming town. For the first time visitor or the inexperienced gambler, the games, sites and sounds of the casino floor can be a shock to your system. Overall, we've found that the dealers at Treasure Island provide an entertaining and helpful approach to playing the casino games we love. Remember, you are the valued customer, without your money these hotels wouldn't exist. Don't be afraid to ask the dealer questions if you are unsure about the rules of the game you are playing.

Best Gambling Atmosphere
The Mirage
The first of the "Mega" strip casinos, Steve Wynn opened The Mirage in the winter of 1989 and Las Vegas has not looked back since. Standing the test of time, The Mirage continues to attract the town's high rollers while still feeling welcoming for the rest of us. Walk thru the beautiful rain forest entry way to enter a casino full of real Las Vegas excitement. Be sure to check out the craps pit in the evenings for some of the most dramatic casino action in town!

Best Off-Strip Casino
Red Rock
Located nearly 13 miles from the famed "Strip", this desert beauty offers all the amenities and pazzaz of its competitors on the strip. Owned by Station Casinos, Red Rock opened in 2006 as a modern take on the "Locals" casino. With several fantastic restaurants, nightlife and entertainment choices, Red Rock is not to be missed on your next Vegas trip.

Best After Hours Casino
Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon
Techically there is no "After Hours" in Las Vegas, a city that truly never sleeps. However, there are a few places in town that cater to the post midnight crowd quite effectively. Located in the middle of Las Vegas Boulevard, the tiny Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon (Formerly Barbary Coast) offers plenty of opportunties to those that do not want the night to end. In addition to 24 hour gaming, Bill's has live entertainment around the clock and a fantastic 24-Hour cafe called The Victorian Room. The crown jewel of this "After Hours" establishment is it's nightclub Drai's. Opening at 1 a.m., the young vegas crowd comes to Drai's to dance and drink until the wee hours of the morning.
