Zane Lamprey - Straight From the Horn

We are having a hard time coming up with someone that has a better life than Zane Lamprey. Not only is he one of the most popular comedians in America, he also hosts one of our favorite shows, Three Sheets. The premise of Three Sheets is simple, Zane goes from country to country to guide us through that areas' drinking culture. He's pretty much the Christopher Columbus of boozin! We sat down with Zane and asked him some hard hitting questions, enjoy!

RN: Sometimes I get made fun of for ordering girly drinks…. My friends usually say, drink this instead; it will put some hair on your chest. Do you have any guilty pleasures in the frilly drink department?

Zane: You drink girly drinks?! Haha! No. None. I've never had a girly, drink. Ever. Next question.

RN: Hey Zane, Mayham here, I'll be heading to South Africa with some buddies for the World Cup in June and drinking with the locals will be a big part of our agenda. Any helpful tips in choosing a good watering hole in a foreign country?

Zane: Hmm... As with any country, I recommend avoiding the overly-touristy bar. But, you have to be careful in the overly local bars. So, find a happy balance--and then drink.

RN: Is there any kind of alcohol you avoid at all costs because of a prior horrid experience?

Zane: I've given up Tequila. In fact, I've given it up more than any other alcohol... I think I've given it up about 9 times.

RN: Of all the hangover cures you have tested which has worked the best?

Zane: Sex... If I can make it through without vomiting.

RN: When I first started watching Three Sheets... i thought to myself, "this guys looks way familiar".... so I go to your IMDB page and see that you hosted two of the Girls Gone Wild videos... and since I'm a perv, i had seen them. No question there....I just want to point out that I’m envious of your life.

Zane: That was a different Zane Lamprey.

RN: Las Vegas is what we are all about here at Rhino Nights… first of all, are you a fan of the Las Vegas drinking scene (minus the black eye you got at the Rio) and secondly, which other places can rival Sin City in terms of all night partying and boozing?

Zane: Hell yeah I'm a fan of the Vegas drinking scene. After a few comedy tours around the country, I want to park my show at a Vegas casino. There is no place like Vegas... There really isn't. It's larger than life.

RN: Any specific favorite places in Vegas to drink?

Zane: A buddy of mine, Keri Kelly, Alice Cooper's wicked guitarist, owns 'Aces and Ales', a great place to grab some difficult-to-find beers. I like to grab a drink there. And there's about a dozen casinos that I like to drink at.

RN: After a few drinks, we have been known to tell females that we are famous or somehow connected to fame (these stories become more elaborate as the night goes on and often don’t work). When you truly are a celebrity, is it pretty fun to be treated like a king?

Zane: Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyup!

RN: Since we know about your favorite drinking stops…. Which location has had the hottest women?

Zane: Lithuania. I know, I was surprised too.

RN: What can we expect from Zane Lamprey in 2010 and beyond?

Zane: All kinds of crazy shit! Tour, book, another book, another TV show, a bar in LA... Keep tabs on me at ZaneLamprey.com ...

Cheers! See you in Vegas!!!

Zane is currently gearing up to go on tour with his comedy show, Drinking Made Easy, where he will hit 50 cities across the country. He is also opening ZaneBar in Los Angeles in the Spring. Currently in its fourth season, you can catch Three Sheets on the Fine Living Network.

Special thanks to Zane and his publicist Karen Marines for setting up the interview!
